of Warwick (formerly of Elmwood Park, NJ) died on March 30, 2007 at Arden Hills Hospital, Goshen. He was 82 years old.
Born on May 10, 1924 in Corona, NY, he was the son of Thomas and Augusta (Perlini) Mayers.
He was the husband of Edna Mayers.
A Marine veteran of World War II, he was a decorated veteran having been awarded the Navy Cross for participation in action in Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Marine Corps League of Sussex County. He worked in Auto Body Repair at Park Auto Body in Elmwood Park, NJ before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Mayers, of Warwick; a daughter, Diane Falco, of Warwick;a granddaughter, Vanessa Falco; two grandsons: Brandon Falco and Dylan Wisniewski; a brother, Robert Mayers; sisters: Lilly Caulfield, Caroline Pecchio, Gertrude Conti, Beatrice De Naro, Lenolin Mami, and Audrey Martone. A daughter, Nancy Mayers, a sister, Eva, and a brother, Aubrey, are predeceased.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 2, 2007, from 2-4 & 6-8:30pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave. Warwick, NY. Funeral service will follow at 8:30 pm. Private cremation.
