
It is with deep sadness that the family of Barbara A. Maloney announce her passing in the comfort of her home with family members by her side on January 11, 2023.
Barbara was born January 8, 1932, the daughter of Hiroji and Myrtle (Rohr) Yano. She was raised on Post Avenue in the Inwood Section of New York City. It was there Barbara met her future husband, Buddy (Gene) and where they continued to raise the family before moving to Nanuet, N.Y. in 1961.
Barbara worked for Bamberger's, which later became Macy’s in Nanuet before retiring to enjoy living in Warwick near her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed summer trips with the family to Bethany Beach, DE., attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and family dinners when she made her famous meatballs and crumb cake. Barbara was a long standing parishioner of St. Stephen’s Parish.
Barbara is survived by two daughters, Sue Scarpulla and husband Steve of Warwick, N.Y, Barbara Fiore also from Warwick, N.Y., two sons, Thomas Maloney and his wife Robin of Cortland Manor, N.Y., Bill Maloney of Rye, N.Y.; eleven grandchildren: Lisa, John, Tommy, Debbie, Peter, Stephen, Max, Russell, Dylan, Eleanor and Blair; eight great - grandchildren, Ian, Chloe, Caroline, Jack, Nora, Sara, Mason and Eleanor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Buddy in 2012, her sisters Anita Allen and Rose Marie Isaac, brother Edward Yano, daughter-in-law Joan Maloney and son-in-law John Fiore.
There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 17 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stephen the First Martyr Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y.
