of Warwick, and formerly Grand Gorge, NY, died at home peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 13, 2006. She was 72 years old.
Born on January 25, 1934 in Brentwood, Missouri, she was the daughter of Leroy and Florence Mae Curry Stanford.
She was predeceased by her first husband, H. A. Nicholas Brieger, and married her second husband, Fred Jinoch, in 1990.
Mrs. Jinoch graduated from Brentwood High School (Missouri) as Valedictorian. After graduation, she attended Washington University with a Social Work major. She left school to get married and raise her family. At age 41, she returned to school to earn a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts at Thomas Edison College in New Jersey.
Helen Jinoch was a member of the Jay Gould Reformed Church in Roxbury, NY. She retired to the Catskill area following a career in New Jersey Civil Service-Unemployment Division.
A family statement read “She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved time spent with her family. She was an avid reader through most of her life, and loved the outdoors. Family members will remember the many hikes she led through the woods. Helen also enjoyed traveling to exotic places with her second husband, Fred Jinoch.”
She is survived by her husband, Fred Jinoch; her children: Katherine Brieger and her husband Joseph Maggio of Pine Island, Cindy Brieger of Flemington, NJ, Nicholas Brieger and his wife Leslie of St. Petersburg, FL, and Rebecca Brieger Parades and her husband Alberto of Montclair, NJ; Also survived by her grandchildren: Paul and Steven Maggio, Elissa Diaz, Darren Holloway, Nick Brieger, Jessica Williams, Deana Travis, Aja Sapp, Christopher Brieger, Julia Parades, and Tyronne Shorter; great-grandchildren Cedric, Isaiah, Joshua, Elijah and Zarelle. She was predeceased by a brother, Leroy Stanford.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 16, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday at Warwick United Methodist Church, Forester Avenue, Warwick. Interment will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Montclair, NJ.
