God has once again opened His heart as Gabrielle sounded his trumpet and called another angel home. Randy Harris, of Warwick, entered heaven on August 29, 2011 at Kaplan Hospice in Newburgh, NY, with family at his side.
Born May 7, 1955 in New York, NY, he was the son of Leona Jackson and the late Wesley Jackson. Randy came to Warwick at a very early age to live with the Jackson family. He never considered them as his foster family – they were his family. He would sit at his mother’s feet and lay his head on her lap and say “I love you, Ma” and she would answer “I love you, too.” We have comfort in knowing that Randy is now sitting with Jesus at His feet, free of pain and suffering.
Randy was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick and also provided private home health care. He formerly worked with IBM, Franklin Lakes, NJ as a computer operator, was a driver with UPS, Spring Valley and worked with R.L. Hanson, HoHoKus, NJ. He was a member of Union AME Church in Warwick, where he was a choir member, a former trustee and served as an usher.
A family statement reads: “Randy loved the Lord very much and served in many capacities in the church. Randy was well-liked by members of the community. He will be missed by his wife, son and daughters, as well as his loved ones and friends.”
The husband of 25 years to Carla Harris and loving father to all his children, a son, James Wesley Harris of Warwick, and daughters Paige Harris of Warwick, Margaret Jones and husband Ricky of Middletown, Michele Varona and husband Chris of Walden, Fran Osborne and fiancé Leroy Kilmer of Highland, and Jean Osborne of Middletown; five grandchildren: Zenobia and Willie, Ashleigh, Brenden and Lydia.
Randy also leaves behind his mother, Leona Jackson of Warwick; sisters Lois Wood and husband Joe of Middletown, Sandra Green of Dallas, TX, Diane Milligan of Warwick; brothers Denny Jackson of Tucson, AZ, Michael Jackson of Warwick, and Eric Presley of the state of FL; niece Denise Ibrahim of Warwick.
