Warren E. Burger

of Warwick, died on March 30, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center.  He was 67 years old.

 

Born on April 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, he was the son of George Dean Burger and Regina Gertrude Dooling.

 

He was married to Joan (nee Hutchinson) Burger.

 

An Army veteran, he was a retired New York City Fireman.  He was the Fire Commissioner of Warwick Fire District (1979-95), Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners, Warwick Fire District (1982-93), Member of the Town of Warwick Planning Board (1987-2000), Chairman (1992-96), member of the Warwick Republican Committee (25 years), Campaign Manager for Joseph Rampe, County Executive (1993) and served on the Orange County Mediation Project.

 

He is survived by his wife, Joan Burger of Warwick;  his son, Dean Burger and his wife Catherine and their children Kieran (9) and Ailish (8) of London, England;  his son, Daniel Burger of Hoboken, NJ; his daughter, Joan Ball and her husband Martin and their children, Andrew (19), Kelsey (17) and Ian (10) of Warwick; his son, Warren Burger and his wife Maura and their children, Hannah (2) and Addison (6 weeks) of Warwick, NY; and his daughter, Jennifer Ostrowsky and her husband Andy of Garrison, NY.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2nd, from 2-4 & 6-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Thursday at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.  Interment will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
