of Warwick, passed away on April 23, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was 90 years old.
Born on April 5, 1921 in Somerville, MA, he was the son of the late Archibald Bachman Foster and Mae McIntyre Foster.
He was married to Maureen (Pope) Foster.
Mr. Foster served with the US Navy during World War II and the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. A Bus Driver with New Jersey Transit, Maplewood, NJ, he was a member of Warwick VFW Post #4662, Warwick American Legion Post #214, and Marine Corps League of Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; two sons: Richard Foster of Warwick and Stephen Foster of San Diego, CA, and their mother, Jean Foster; one granddaughter, Kasey Foster; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Foster.
He spent a lifetime entertaining as a tap dancer and a professional drummer, playing with many bands during his military time. He was a member of the local Stardust Orchestra.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Warwick and Horton Hospital, Middletown for their care.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, from 2-4 & 7-8:30 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will follow at 8:30 pm. Burial of cremated remains will be at 11:00 am on Friday, April 29th, at Warwick Cemetery, with military honors.
