
Charles C. Niemann of Warwick, NY passed away on September 8, 2022 after a brief illness. He was 79 years old.
Born in Queens, NY on March 14, 1943, he was the son of Christian and Mary (nee Brendel) Niemann.
Charlie was a NJ Transit bus driver for 50 years, working out of Oradell, NJ.
He was a local fire service volunteer for over 60 years, serving as past chief in Greenwood Lake; as a member of the Greenville Fire Department; member of the Warwick Fire District, and retired Orange County Coordinator 36-16.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis; five children: Michael and his wife Patricia and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Charles and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Doreen Niemann and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Paul and his wife Jennifer and one grandchild, Scott and his fiancé Enymel Franco and one grandchild, and Max Garcia and his wife Tami and two grandchildren; sister Dorothy Niemann, and his favorite cat “Fatty.” He was predeceased by grandson Michael, Jr.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A funeral service and firematic service will be at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
