Mary E. Park, of Warwick, passed away on April 4, 2011 at Arden Hill Hospital, Goshen. She was 95 years old.
Born on May 23, 1915 in Hamburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand K. and Lillie Mae (Green) VanStrander.
She was married to the late Alfred Park (1993).
Mrs. Park formerly farmed with her late husband, owning Park Farm in Warwick.
A family statement reads: “Mary was a devoted wife and mother who worked hard all her life. Next to her family, Mary loved her kitchen best. She will forever be loved and will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
She is survived by her daughters: Rita L. Weigele of Middletown and Nancy M. Miller and her husband Glenn of Warwick; a son, James D. Park of Little Meadows, PA; a daughter-in-law, Joan Park, of Warwick; her sisters: Katherine House of Sussex, NJ, Ethel Furman of Vernon, NJ, Helen De Vries of St. Petersburg, FL and Janet Cameron of Goshen; a brother, Clifford VanStrander of Sussex, NJ; seven grandsons: Kim Quackenbush, Christopher Orthodox, Stephen Orthodox, Nathan Park, Matthew Park, Jeffrey Park and Todd Miller; nine great-grandchildren: Breann Quackenbush, Shannon Quackenbush, Colby Quackenbush, Zachary Miller, Quinten Miller, Lucas Miller, Adam Park, Celia Park and Tyler Park.
She was preceded in death by her son, Alfred F. W. Park (2002), her sisters, Mildred Newman and Irene Luft, and a brother, Ferdinand VanStrander, Jr.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 6th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
