Gregory Joseph Silveri of Warwick, New York passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on January 16, 2018, one month short of his 47th birthday.
Gregory was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and a resultant seizure disorder shortly after birth. Regardless of his level of ability, Gregory’s determination, will and fighting spirit were evident from an early age. With God’s strength, he persisted and his big, bright, loving personality shone through. Gregory’s smile and laugh would fill a room, and they will live on in the hearts of all those who were blessed with them.
Gregory loved his dad patting his chest, loved his “job” (playing with a homemade plastic tube fashioned into a toy for him) and loved his mom’s pumpkin pie... and lasagna; then again, who doesn’t?
The Silveri family would like to express sincere gratitude to friends and family who cared for Gregory, and offer special thanks to those healthcare professionals over the years who truly saw Gregory, cared for him with the dignity and respect he deserved, and loved him like one of their own. Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
Gregory’s immediate family plans for a private memorial in the near future. He is survived by his parents, Greg and Rosa of Warwick; his brothers, Scott Silveri and wife, Shana of Santa Monica, California, and Lee Silveri and wife, Isis Silveri of Monsey, New York; and his sister, Sarah Silveri-Miller and husband Rob of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; his nieces Chiara and Elisabetta and his nephew, Giovanni.
