Edward "Eddie" Collins, formerly of Greenwood Lake, NY passed away peacefully on July 7, 2011 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida.  He was pre deceased by his wife, Gerry Viso Collins.

Born September 4, 1930 in Brooklyn NY, he was the son of the late James and Harriet (Kiley) Collins

Mr. Collins was a former president of the Greenwood Lake School Board as well as a past president of the Greenwood Lake Ambulance Corps, along with coaching Little League he also was a former parishioner of Holy Rosary RC Church Greenwood Lake, NY.  Eddie spent many memorable working years in Greenwood Lake during the glory days of such establishments as The Long Pond Inn and Big Daddy's.

Mr. Collins is survived by his precious daughter Donna Conforti of Edison, NJ, his awesome son and daughter in law Brian and Eva Collins of Boca Raton, Florida, his princess daughter and son in law, Pamela and Raymond Begin of Windham, NH and his "pseudo-son", Kevin Cadger.  He was the beloved and caring Grandpa of Matthew, Alison, Andrew, Dean and Madalyn Conforti, Shane, Erica and Colin Begin, Annika, Brandon and Michaella Collins and Nicholas, Danielle and Jaclyn Barillaro.  He was also the treasured Great Grandpa of Grayden and Navey Conforti. These children were the joys of Eddie's life, along with the NY Yankees, NY Giants, Tetley tea, Entenmann's coffee cake and Italian food. Mr. Collins will be deeply missed by his brother James Collins of Millstone, NJ and his sister, Harriet Russell of Staten Island NY as well as his many, many loving nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his sister Grace Parker

Visitation will be Monday July 11, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home 17 Oakland Ave. Warwick, NY.  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday at Holy Rosary RC Church Greenwood Lake, NY, followed by interment in St. Stephen Cemetery Warwick, NY.
