Charles Joseph Loomis

Charles Joseph Loomis, son of Charles Loomis and Emily Drew, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, in his home in Monroe, NY.  He had just turned 84, born January 2, 1933 in New York, NY.

Charles was predeceased by his first wife of 40 years, Rachel Ann (Fanelli) Loomis and is survived by his present wife Virginia Mazza-Loomis.  He is also survived by his five children:  Charles N. Loomis, Kimberly Esposito, Dana Cirlincione, Michelle Freda and Michael Loomis; ten grandchildren; and a sister, Emily Lamon.

Charles served with the US Army during the Korean War.  He was retired from the US Postal Service in Union City, NJ and was an active member of both the American Legion in Greenwood Lake and the Warwick Rotary.  Charles was a talented musician, poet and sportsman.  He was a loving, dedicated husband, father and grandfather, and he will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 22, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home,17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY.  Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Monday, January 23, at St. Stephen RC Church, followed by interment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
