Gary Lawrence of Greenwood Lake, NY (formerly of Stony Point, NY) passed at the age of 62 on June 12, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY.
He was born in Madelia, Minnesota on May 25, 1959 to Larry L. "Shorty" and Karen Ann (Brummond) Lawrence, and was raised in Cambridge, Minnesota.
Gary proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps from 1979-1982, and was a Steamfitter with Local 638 for more than 30 years.
Gary was an avid Harley rider, boating, hunting, fishing, cooking and catering. He had an outstanding personality; and would strike up a conversation with anyone.
He and his wife Jayne are members of the Greenwood Lake community, as well as the Holy Rosary Church, and American Legion Post 1443 in Greenwood Lake, NY.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Jayne (nee Castillo) Lawrence; daughters, Natasha Kasischke and her husband Kevin of St. Joseph, Michigan; Rebecca Lawrence of Quantico, Virginia; and two grandsons, Jaxon and Anthony; his Mother, Karen Ann Ellingson and her husband Michael Ellingson of Sierra Vista, AZ; his brother, Gregory and his wife Diane of Cambridge, MN; and Steven of Sierra Vista, AZ; sister Dawn of
Sierra Vista, AZ; mother-in-law, Angela Risden of Greenwood Lake, NY; and extended family members.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church 41 Windermere Avenue Greenwood Lake, NY. Cremation will be private.
