Jamal Charlton Morris of Philadelphia, PA (formerly of Warwick, NY), passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2016 in Philadelphia. He was 27 years old.
Born on November 15, 1988 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the beloved son of Hector Charlton Morris and Channabel Latham-Morris.
Jamal was a graduate of Warwick Valley High School in 2006 and Drexel University in 2011. He was a Mechanical Engineer with AMEC Foster Wheeler in Philadelphia, PA and part time staff member at Penn Athletics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jamal was struck from his bike on his way home by a hit-and-run driver and died two days later of severe brain injuries.
Jamal was a wonderful, inspirational, brilliant, and a unique person. He was genuine, compassionate, kind and fiercely loyal. He cared deeply about others and was committed to his friends and family. He lived a life full of hope and kindness. His absence is deeply felt by all whom he touched. People gravitated towards him and he made everyone feel important and worthy. He would be remembered for his motto “It’s Only Getting Better”.
He is survived by his parents, Hector Charlton and Channabel Latham-Morris of Warwick
