Jeffrey Edward Fisher, of Warwick, NY, passed away on February 22, 2017 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 75 years old.
Born on August 1, 1941 in Long Island, NY, he was the son of Edward P. Fisher and Amelia Rovtar.
Jeffrey graduated from Hartwick College and pursued his M.S. and PhD from New Paltz College.
Jeff was married to his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Karen Hollensworth for fifty years. He was a History teacher and advisor of the Forensic League with the Ramapo Central School District, Suffern, NY for 30 years. Jeff was responsible for spearheading the Suffern High School Centennial Celebration and was the recipient of the Valley Forge Freedom Award. He was a member and usher at St. Therese RC Church in Montauk, NY. and a long time member and President of the Basha Kill Area Association. After retiring as an educator, Jeff and Karen settled in Montauk where they enjoyed fishing and life in the beautiful beach community. Jeff and Karen traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America and the Caribbean.
Some of Jeff’s greatest joys and proudest moments were spent teaching his grandchildren to ski, fish, and swim. Jeff loved boating and was a lifetime Corvette aficionado.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Montauk; his daughter and “little girl”, Liesel Daigle and her husband Steve of Warwick and his grandchildren: Nicholas, Noah and Natalie Daigle. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Jean Robinson.
A mass and celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held at a later date.
Jeff was a lifelong blood donor and member of the gallon club.
