Fay Karr

Fay Karr (nee Wolkstein) of Warwick, NY (formerly of Union, NJ) passed away on May 13, 2019 at St. Anthony Hospital. She was 91 years old.

 

Born in Newark, NJ to the late Irving and Mary (Morris) Wolkstein on December 2, 1927.

 

Fay was an LPN who advanced to Supervisor of Medical Records at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Always family-oriented, she had a beautiful heart and was a caregiver to many. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Inez Freund and her husband Al of Warwick, NY; son Steven Karr of Charleston, SC; brother, Mel Wolkstein of Verona, NJ; grandson, Jack Freund of Warwick, NY; nephews: Dr. Bill Wolkstein, John Wolkstein, Andrew Wolkstein; and nieces, Mindy and Marianne Wolkstein. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Karr and her brother, Herbert Wolkstein.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday. May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, NJ.
