
Wayne Barth of Warwick, passed away on December 30, 2017 at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 83 years old.
Born on November 17, 1934 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Richard and Ethel Downing Barth.
Wayne had a passion for driving trucks that started the day he became an owner operator for 42 years with Teamsters Union 917 in Newark, NJ. The Queen Village Queens played an important part of Wayne's life as he was their driver and a mentor to many. He was the former owner of Acorn Pub in Monroe, a member of Greenwood Lake Elks Club and was involved in the American Legion Post 488 in Monroe for many years.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for Wayne, his caregivers, Reid, his Nieces, his Nephews and the volunteers at the Warwick Ambulance.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Barth of Warwick; his daughters Cynthia Barth of the Outer Banks, NC, Debra Gorish and her husband Otto of Florida, NY, Susanne Barrett of Largo, FL, his son Wayne S. Barth of Warwick; his sister Maureen Grisez of Fort Lee, NJ; his grandsons Otto Gorish and John Barrett, his granddaughters Rena Marr, Shana Myers, Erica Barth, Sierra Barth and Melissa Barth along with 6 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his grandson Frank Spargo.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave, Warwick, NY. A funeral service has been postponed due to inclement weather to Friday at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by an interment at Warwick Cemetery.
