A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Warwick Reformed Church, followed by a reception in the church parlor for Mr. Robert F. Toms, of Warwick, passed away on December 20, 2008 at Schervier Pavilion, Warwick. He was 93 years old.
Born on February 19, 1915 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was the son of John Croll Toms and Kathryn Winzenried Toms.
Mr. Toms, known as “Bob” to his many friends in Warwick, served with the US Army from 1942-1946 with the 94th Infantry Division in France. He graduated from Rider College in 1949. He worked in the local banking industry for over 40 years and retired at age 77 as Branch Manager with Key Bank in Bloomingburg. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #544, Warwick since 1952. He served as past Master and past Grand Representative of the Lodge and held the Secretary’s position for 30 years. He was a member of the Warwick Reformed Church since 1955. Mr. Toms also belonged to The American Legion and The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite.
He is survived by first cousins: Clifton Gregory Brown of Kiawah Island, SC, Patricia Brown Bradley of Greensboro, NC, and Jean Diller of Hillsborough, NJ.
