Howard I. Smith, of Warwick, passed away on July 9, 2015 at St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick. He was 84 years old. He formerly lived in New Milford, NJ and Spring Hill, FL.
He was born on May 28, 1931 in Teaneck, NJ
He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty A. (Bourke) Smith and his second wife, Angeline (Pesta) Smith.
Howard served with the US Navy and was a member of the VFW in Brooksville, FL. He retired as a Dispatcher with Rockland Coaches in Westwood, NJ. He attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his children: son, Raymond Howard Smith of Warwick, daughter, Linda Ridella and her husband Alfred, Jr. of Warwick, and Gregory T. Smith and his wife Stacy of Hudson, FL; his grandchildren: Heather Smith Smith and her husband Derek, Erica Ridella, Matthew Smith and Catherine Ridella; and great-grandchild, Carolynn. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Rothmann of Cambria, CA; two sisters, Lillian Kirkpatrick and her husband Donald of Oakland, NJ and Roberta Schmidt and her husband William of West Milford, NJ.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12th, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 95 Kings Highway, Warwick, followed by interment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
