of Warwick, passed away on April 12, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Community Hospital. He was 87 years old.
Born on March 19, 1923 in Warwick, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Mabel Garrison Crover.
A family statement read ”The life of Donald Crover has been an 87 year celebration of the finer things in life: a strong marriage, a respectful son, the joy of three grandchildren. He was an advocate of knowing right from wrong, defender of the weak, and spoke from his mind and heart. Loyal, steadfast he forever looked for the good in others. And he laughed out loud, and often. When both colleague and small children trust you – it is a life perfectly lived.”
An Army veteran and serving in WWII, Donald was a member of Warwick VFW Post 4662. He worked for the US Postal Service as a Mail Carrier in Warwick, NY and was also a member of St. Stephen RC Church in Warwick, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Crover of Warwick; his son: Peter Crover and his wife Julie of Houston, TX; his granddaughter: Egan Crover of Maryland; his two grandsons: Blair Crover of Texas and Jonathan Crover of North Carolina; his sisters: Caroline Nicoll of California, Nancy Beatty of Warwick, Virginia Astorino of Warwick; his brothers: John Crover of New Berlin, NY and Robert Crover of Texas.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 7-9 pm at the Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service and internment will be private at St. Stephens Cemetery, Warwick, NY.
