of Warwick, NY passed away on May 7, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was 72.
Born on February 6, 1937 in Teaneck, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph Earl Adams and Freda Steele Adams.
He was married to Wendy Adams.
Dr. Adams graduated from Cornell State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1961 and later earned his MPH at Columbia University. He served in the US Peace Corps, following which he practiced veterinary medicine for over 40 years. He was the former Chief Veterinarian of the NYC Zoos and was a lifelong member of the NYS Veterinary Medical Society. He was the owner of the International Veterinary Service Clinic in Warwick, NY. Dr. Adams was a 30-year resident of Warwick and a member of the Warwick Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Adams of Warwick NY; his children: Joseph G. Adams of Boulder, CO, Sharon M. Dispoto and her husband Michael of Ringwood, NJ, Warren L. Adams of Warwick, NY, Timothy E. Adams of Warwick, NY; grandchildren: Ethan and Sydney; a sister, Marsha Speed and her husband Lou of Ringwood, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 11th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday at Warwick Cemetery.
