of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on January 30, 2011. He was 75 years old.
Born on March 13, 1935 in Puerto Rico, he was the son the late Rogelia Lastra.
Mr. Lastra was a Foreman with Scientific Packaging Company in Elizabeth, NJ. Luis had a strong work ethic, was a devoted Mets fan, loved playing dominoes, but his children were his life.
He is survived by his wife, Crucita Lastra of Ridgewood, Queens; a daughter, Haydee Lastra-Atkins and her husband Frank of Warwick; two sons: Jose Lastra and his wife Elena of Cherry Hill, NJ and Samuel Lastra and his fiancé Angelina Rodriguez. He was a second father to his son, Alfredo Lopez of Elizabeth, NJ, daughter, Susanna Lopez of Ridgewood, Queens, daughter, Elba Iris Lopez of Puerto Rico, son, Antonio Lopez of Puerto Rico, and the late Modesto Lopez. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Jeremy and Nicole.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 3rd, from 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-8:00 pm at Morton Funeral Home, 663 Grandview Ave, Queens. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday at Warwick United Methodist Church,135 Forester Ave., Warwick, NY, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
