
Susan K. Ochs, of Warwick, passed away on January 7, 2017 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 74 years old.
Born on February 15, 1942 in Copiague, NY, she was the daughter of Charles and Vera (Jonason) Haubrich.
She was married to the late Leslie Ochs (1994).
Susan was Owner and Bookkeeper of Ochs Orchard in Warwick. She was also a Dental Hygienist with Dr. Robert Werner in Florida, NY. She was a member of the Warwick Valley Quilter’s Guild and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
"Mom was a loving, caring person, always there with a smile. She really enjoyed quilting and crafts. She was an asset to the Orchard keeping the "behind" the scenes" straight. She'll be missed every season when she would look forward to the first fruit or veggie ready from the farm. An animal lover, her dog Sonny will be missing her, too."
She is survived by her son, Alan K. Ochs and his companion Wanda V. Cruz of Warwick, her daughter, Janice Williams and her husband Andrew of Warwick; her grandchildren: Jessie Williams and Amy Williams; a great-granddaughter, Tessa D’Esopo; and her dog, Sonny. She is also survived by a sister, Karen Van Buskirk and husband William of Kennesaw, GA; her brothers: Kenneth Haubrich and his wife Katie of Southport, NC and Paul Haubrich and his wife Elizabeth of Brentwood, NY; and many nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 11th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 12th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 95 Kings Highway, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
