Stanley Earl Linton

Stanley Earl Linton, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather,  lifelong resident of Warwick, NY,  passed away on March 17, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 94 years old. 

Born on November 29, 1921, he was the son of the late Alan and Lenora (Keegan) Linton. 

He was married to the late Carolyn (Miller) Linton (2015) for 68 years.

He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.  Stationed in India, flying 64 missions over the Himalaya Mountains into Burma and China.  He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with Oak Clusters.  

He worked for Orange & Rockland Electric Company for 35 years and after retiring, he was associated with the Warwick Dial A Bus for 25 years. 

Stan was an avid hiker, a nature lover, had a passion for local Warwick history, and loved his family dearly.  His happiest times were spent traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his beloved children:  Suzanne Caputo and her husband Michael of Latham, NY, Stanley Linton, Jr. and his wife Terese of Westtown, and Sally Sopalsky and her husband John of Goshen;  his grandchildren:  Jenna Laboda and husband Nick, Jessica Porter and husband Seth, Christine Sopalsky and fiancé Patrick Titterington and Tara Kosinda and husband Adrian; and two great-granddaughters, Liliana and Abigail.

He was predeceased by his brothers Kenneth, Elwood, Norman & Donald, and a sister, Helen.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22nd, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Warwick Reformed Church, 16 Maple Ave., Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
