Alba Maria Morales Muniz 1942 -1962

Alba and Manuel were married for 20 years.  While he was overseas, Alba gave birth to Manuel Jr. and raised him in NYC while living with a maiden aunt and her sister-in-law, who was also raising her newborn son.

When Manuel Sr returned from overseas, little Manny kept asking for a little sister and Nydia was born and the family was complete.

Alba was very adamant that both children attended Catholic schools and went to work to help pay the tuition.  She worked at McGraw Hill Publishing as a correspondence interpretor.  She had a natural facility for languages using her fluency in Spanish to translate correspondence from Italian, French and Portuguese.  Her choice to work was not a commonly accepted choice in those days and Manuel objected strongly.  Other marital stressors began to eat away at the happy home and Manuel left in 1962, followed shortly by Manuel Jr. who joined the Air Force.
