Sandra M. Cianci (Bernstein), of Warwick, NY, (formerly of Paramus, NJ), passed away on January 27, 2013 at Schervier Pavilion Nursing Facility. She was 84 years old.
Born on July 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Archie & Ethel Bernstein.
She was married and devoted to Albert M. Cianci for 63 wonderful years.
She is survived by her husband, Albert of Warwick, NY; a son, Craig and his wife Christine of Warwick; a son, Gary and his wife Deborah of Wyckoff, NJ; a son, Scott and his wife Kathleen of Pompton Lakes, NJ. She adored her nine grandchildren Brenda, Michele, Jill, Karen, Colleen, Allison, Stephanie, Albert and Steven. She also had four Great Grandchildren, Makayla, Jasmyne, Jalissa and Lilly. She was excited to have two step-grandchildren Myles and Avery join her family in December. Sandra is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Epstein of Florida and her two sisters-in-law Laura Cianci and Lucia Cianci and her nieces and nephews.
Sandra loved writing poetry. She wrote poems for all the family members and anyone who she thought was kind to show her appreciation. She was born on 7/7 and that number was a running theme throughout her life. Sandra made the BEST rice balls, macaroni and meatballs. She was known for her sand collecting. Everyone would contribute sand from all the places around the world they would go.
Sandra enjoyed using the computer and internet. She was able to keep in touch with her childhood friends and extended family. She enjoyed telling us about her ancestors and sharing stories from her childhood.
The light of her life was her beloved husband, Albert. They enjoyed spending all their time together. Sandra’s parents were unsure about a young Jewish girl wanting to be with a young Catholic boy. Al soon won over her father and they became great friends. Albert describes his wife as the most caring person. Sandra was a wonderful, loving person here on earth and is now a Guardian Angel in Heaven.
Funeral services will be Tuesday pending arrangements at Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Warwick. Interment will be at Garden of Memories in Washington Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra’s name may be made to Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY or the American Cancer Society.
