Contribution to Memorial Page for Ted Cody

Donald P. Grenier VFW Post 4662 Chaplain
On behalf of the VFW Post 4662, I have been struggling with words that would be of a sincere form of condolence for your family. Many years ago when I lost my wife, It was of  honest feeling when friends contacted our family "AFTER" the services were concluded. It was of significant import to me and my young children that have lost their Mother at ages 13 & 11. This is why it has taken me a bit of time to send a message to you, because contact after was significant in helping us survive a tragedy.

The passing of Ted is the end of an era, the final call of our creator, such is the cycle of our existence, Ted's purpose has been fulfilled. "When a veteran dies and Angel cries"

When we reviewed Ted's photo album and saw his service missions as a B-17 Ball Turret gunner, we all quickly realize that Ted was not drafted to play in the NBA. Specifically in Ted's case, size does not make any difference for a true hero. The worth of Ted's courage came from within. Courage is not a birthright, it is found in the actions and nobility of a persons heart.

In conclusion, as a message to all to remember Ted Cody's name: who he was, and what he was "A dedicated honest patriot who gave all to his family and his country."

Bless You All.
