Sally A. Meyer

Sally A. Meyer of Warwick, NY, passed away on March 13, 2023 at Garnet Medical Center, Wallkill, NY, after a long illness. She was 72 years old.

Born in New York City, on December 7, 1950, she was the daughter of Walter and Margaret (nee Egan) Valenson.

Sally graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Park Terrace East in Inwood in 1968. She went on to pursue her passion for nursing and graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Yonkers, NY. After moving to Warwick from the Bronx, Sally raised her family with the love of her life, Bill. She went on to work as an LPN in the ER at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick and retired from Orange Regional Medical Center in 2008.

Sally is survived by her beloved children, daughter Jennifer Christian and her husband David and son James D. Meyer and his wife Christan all of Warwick; two grandchildren Aliyah Rose Meyer and Anthony James Meyer; sister Kathleen Sharpe of Maybrook, NY; nephews: William Sharpe of Maybrook, NY, Christopher Sharpe (Michele) of Montgomery, NY, Kevin Sharpe (Valerie) of Scotchtown, and John Meyer of HI; nieces: Nancy Meyer of OR, Danielle Sharpe of Scotchtown, NY, and Emily Sharpe of Montgomery, NY. She was also loving Nana to her grand-puppy “Bodhi.” Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband William in February 2023, brother-in-law Herbert D. Meyer and nephew Ryan Sharpe.

The family will receive friends for viewing on Friday, March 24^th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 25^th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
