Eric John Sandve II

Eric John Sandve II, of Naponach, NY (formerly of West Milford, NJ), passed away on August 20, 2022, at Garnet Health Medical Center after a courageous battle against brain cancer. He was 35 years old.
Born on December 2, 1986, in Warwick, NY, he was the son of Laura A. (nee Feller) Sandve and the late Eric John Sandve I (2020).
Eric grew up as a sci-fi fanatic, a lover of everything cinema, and a connoisseur of comics. As the oldest of four boys, he had a natural instinct to care for and protect others, especially his brothers. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout; he lived by the Scout Oath, embodying the tenets of the Scout Law. Although he earned a Master of Fine Arts from Rutgers University and worked as a Professor of English, his favorite career was taking care of his three children and loving his wife Joanna. As pastimes, he thrived playing Spider-Man with Archie, reigning in Charlie Jean’s chaos, and taking naps with Sam. He had a knack for puttering about until early hours of the morning, but he never failed to make Joanna’s school lunch before he went to bed. Eric never went anywhere without a book in tow, and he was happy to talk video games any chance he had.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife Joanna (nee Meekins) Sandve and his children Arthur, Charlotte, and Sam. He is survived as well by his mother Laura, his brother Kevin and sister-in-law Ashley, his brother Michael, his brother John, and his grandmother Evelyn Feller, his uncle Jeff Feller, his aunt Traci Feller, and his uncle Ehren Feller. He is also survived by his wife's parents, James and OlgaJean Meekins, and Joanna's six siblings. Eric also had sixteen nieces and nephews that he cherished dearly. In addition to his father, Eric was predeceased by his grandfather John Feller in 2022.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 24th from 4-7 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A private funeral service will take place and interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
