Dear Mr. Green, You will always be source of strength and understanding and most importantly difference maker in my life. You were that teacher in my life that instilled understanding and need for perseverance as well strength of character to move forward in all we do. Our interaction took place while I was in Third grade and you found me crying in stairwell over someone calling me the “n” word in class you told me that day only I can define who I am and that problem was not mine however the problem of the name caller. You sent me back to class armored with knowing that I defined me and that all was possible if believed in myself. We would go on to have many positive memories throughout my Warwick experience though this one is core to my educational and career achievements as well as appreciation of your influence. It was great to have you down to see Fences by August Wilson because its messaging encapsulated your teachings. Farewell my friend and mentor and know that you continue to positively impact all I endeavor. You made difference and for that I am forever grateful. Rest In Peace, Mr. Green

My condolences to all of Joe's family. I first met Joe when he was opening up a real estate office in Goshen. He needed a Goshen agent, so I was the first agent he hired. I remember, the first listing I took was on Murray Avenue, and it was a celebration. He was a good businessman, and always took time to talk. A gentleman, and one with great pride. He was always smiling, joking and we often teased him about it. May he now rest in peace.

My love + deepest condolences to the family + many friends of Joe Green. My story is different than most, as I met Joe Green when I was 16 + he was the WVHS boy's gym teacher. He was the hallway monitor first thing in the morning, right near my homeroom. I don't know how it happened, but I used to visit with him every day for the few minutes before the bell rang. I was on the soccer + volleyball teams, + we talked about that. We talked about girls that drive stick shifts, too much homework, bell bottoms or straight legs, helicopters, bad + favorite teachers... We talked about everything. He was always a gentleman with dignity + heart... a person I could trust. It came to be that I had my 1st crazy crush on Gordon S. but I didn't know why he didn't like me. I couldn't talk to my parents about it, but it was easy to tell Joe. I told him how I would punch him on the shoulder, or kick him from behind. Lol. He told me to be soft not hard. Eventually, Gordon took me on a date to a movie... then suddenly he died in a car accident. I was devastated + cried often at school. Joe always had a comforting + encouraging word for me. I deeply appreciated that. The next year I graduated + said goodbye to Joe. Seven years later I got married + moved to West Palm Beach. As I look back over the years, I realize how profound our friendship was. This genuine man got me through a devastating trauma. He did not have to care, but he did. There are people throughout our lives that had an impact + shaped our lives... but they don't know it. It Is So Important that you tell them. It's Love + Healing for you both. It took me 43 years to get Joe's cell phone number. When we talked it was just like yesterday, laughing + joking. He immediately asked me to lunch after his golf game. I said I dont think my plane would get there in time, but in 2 weeks I was going up to NY for our family reunion. We went to dinner + it couldn't have been more fun. The stories were hysterical. I had no idea he grew up in Sugar Loaf like me. I thanked him again for caring about me all those years ago. Our God is so Gracious that He allowed me this renewed friendship + closure before we lost our Joe. We were All Blessed to know him. Now let's honor God + pay it forward, to be a Blessing to others. 💕 Chrissy Bennett WW1976

Joe & I became best friends caddying at the Glenmere Golf Resort in Chester /Florida,NY. at the age of 13 yrs old. Each weekend after caddying and playing golf, he would always invite me to his home for a meal prepared by his Mother. Through out our High School Years we followed each others sports programs. His being football, basketball, and baseball games, and mine being Basketball, Baseball, and Ice Hockey Games at West Point (Smith Ice Hockey Rink).Joe and my wife (Estelle) graduated from Cortland State, receiving their Masters Degrees, as I went into the US Army after two years at OCCC. Estelle and I currently reside in Melbourne,Florida.I was so happy when Joe moved to West Palm Beach, as we were able to see each other regularly. I miss him dearly.Joe being a scratch golfer here in West Palm Beach,I could never beat him,as he was just too good. Traveling around the world as a Bible Teaching Missionary Pastor for 20 years,I must say that Marie Pennings is one of the nicest ladies that I have ever met worldwide. CORBY OLINSKI 8/15/21
