Lawrence Varick

Lawrence Varick of Warwick, NY passed away on June 19, 2019 at home.  He was 94 years old.

 

Born in Haledon, NJ on December 26, 1924 to the late Jesse and Lillian Varick.

 

He served in WW2 and the Korean War with honorable discharge as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force.  He received his BS degree at Newark College of Engineering.

 

Prior to his retirement, Larry was a mechanical engineer for Singer Kearfott in Little Falls, NJ.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Kuiken and her husband Bill of Warwick, NY; son David Varick and his wife Vallerie of Bloomingdale, NJ; and son Richard Varick of Littleton, NC; grandson, Steven Kuiken of Sherman Oaks, CA; granddaughter Kelly Varick of Garfield, NJ; and grandson Ryan Varick of Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace (nee Olrick) and all three of his siblings.

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 23 from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24 at the funeral home.  Interment in Warwick Cemetery will follow the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lawrence’s memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 98, Warwick, NY 10990.
