John Walker

6/2/2018

John W. Walker of Warwick, NY passed away on June 2, 2018. He was 77 years old.

Born in Hexham, Northhumberland, England on January 7, 1941 to parents John and Marjorie Walker.

He served in the British Military. He was a self-employed electrical engineer which took him on travels to many countries.  He immigrated to the United States with his family in the late 1970s.

John was a witty and an intelligent man who always seemed to have a quip at the tip of his tongue. He enjoyed photography, genealogy, vintage cars and visiting the Lakota Wolf Preserve. He volunteered at the local animal shelter walking the dogs. His favorite past time though, was spending time with his family.

All who knew him loved him dearly; many affectionately called him “Grandad.”

John was a beloved husband, dad and grandad.  He leaves behind his wife, Gina; his children, Michelle, Nick and his wife Adrienne, Justin and his wife Dana, Gary and Fran, Mark and his wife Helen; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister, Christine Barlow.

The family will receive friends for Memorial Visitation from 2-5 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 5 p.m.  on Tuesday, June 12  at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Warwick Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 61, Warwick, NY 10990 or the Lakota Wolf Preserve, 89 Mt. Pleasant Road, Columbia, NJ 07832.
