Warren "Mac" Chamberlin McFarland

Warren Chamberlin McFarland (Mac) retired Police Chief of the Village of Warwick died August 28, 2023. He was 99 years old.

He was born August 24, 1924, in New York City. His parents, Donald C. McFarland and Caroline Servin McFarland owned Spring Brook Farm in Warwick, NY.

He enlisted in the Army during World War II and was awarded the European medal with four campaigns, Victory and Occupation Medals

Mac was a member of the American Legion Post 214, Warwick, the Warwick Flotilla, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, the American Military Association and the Ordnance Society of England. He is a former member of the Raymond Hose Company, Warwick Fire Police and Constable of the Town of Warwick. He was a founding member of the Orange County Police Chiefs Association and a past President of the Peace Officers of Orange County.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Williams McFarland of Warwick; daughters Catherine McFarland Batastini and her husband Paul of Cocoa, FL, and Rosemary McFarland and Susan McFarland of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother Donald McFarland of Warwick, NY; daughter-in-law Glenda McFarland of Centerville, AL; stepson Robinson E. Lattimer and his wife Annbeth of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren Megan Lattimer and her fiancée Andrew Milliner of Glen Burnie, MD, and Timothy Lattimer and his girlfriend Emily Lovdahl of Boston, MA. He was predeceased by his son David Allen McFarland, retired from the Kingston Police Department.

Memorial visitation 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday September 7, 2023 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home 17 Oakland Ave. Warwick, NY 10990

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Post 214, 71 Forester Ave, Warwick, NY 10990
