William Joseph Browne

William J. Browne, widower of the late Frances Helen Browne, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Conway Medical Center, South Carolina.

Born December 19, 1931 in County Kerry, Ireland, Mr. Browne was the son of the late Willliam Joseph Browne, Sr. and the late Julia Kelly Browne.

He was retired from the NYPD. He and his wife Frances, shared 44 years of marriage until her death in 1998. Mr. Browne was also predeceased by his daughter, Diane Marie Foley; his brother, John Browne; and his sister, Mary Sheerin.

Survivors include his children: Patricia Kiernan and William Joseph Browne, Jr. and wife Patricia, son-in-law James Foley; his grandchildren: Dawn Marie Kiernan Mata and husband William and Amanda Lyn Foley; his great-grandson, Logan Mata; and his sister, Patricia Cottrell and husband William.

The family will host a visitation for family and friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20 at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery, 94 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY.
