Rosemary E. Larkin

Rosemary E. Larkin a longtime resident of Warwick, NY, (formerly of Greenwich Village, NY) passed away on February 26, 2023. She was 86 years old.

 

Born in Greenwich Village in New York City on December 31, 1936 she was the daughter of Timothy and Rose (nee Postel) Mullins.  She was predeceased by her husband Robert Larkin in 2009.

 

Rosemary was a guidance secretary at John S. Burke High School for many years and worked as a secretary for the Warwick Valley Central School district prior to her time at Burke.  In her younger years she was a champion swimmer and fencer as well as an avid golfer was was always a huge Yankee fan.

 

Rosemary was a parishioner at St. Stephen RC Church and was known for her great belief in the power of prayer.

 

Rosemary is survived by her son Barry Larkin and his wife Kate of Matawan, NJ; daughter Colleen Sutherland and her husband Jerry of Chester, NY; three grandchildren: Drew and Paige Larkin and C. Evelyn Barwick; sister Kathleen Carr of Chester, NY;  as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her three brothers John, Walter and Timothy Mullins. Her best friend was Kathleen Roemlein of Warwick.

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, NY followed by interment in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.  To view the Mass live online at the scheduled time, us this link:  Larkin Rosemary Funeral 3.3.2023
