Evaristo Rivera

Evaristo Rivera, of Warwick, passed away on February 25, 2023 at St Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick, NY. He was 97 years old.

Born on March 28, 1926 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan and Francisco (nee Santos) Rivera.

Evaristo was predeceased by his wife of 65 years the late Lydia (nee Concepción) Rivera (2017). He was the last surviving of 7 children. He came to the United States in the 1940’s

Before retiring, Evaristo was a member of the teamsters union working for Hermany Farms in Bronx, NY.

He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, having been very active in the raising of his grandchildren Ariana and Noel

He is survived by; his son, Elvin Rivera of Deer Park, LI NY; his daughter, Magali Sepúlveda and her husband Anthony of Warwick; his grandchildren: Lydia Rivera-Johnson of Huntington Station, LI, Michael C. Rivera of Hackensack, NJ, Noel A. Sepúlveda of Warwick, NY and Ariana Sepúlveda of Warwick, NY; and two great-grandchildren Ramona and Celeste.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 1^st , from 9:00-11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. Interment will follow at Warwick Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
