Richard L. Stevens, Jr., a longtime resident of Warwick, NY, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2022 at St. Anthony Hospital. He was 53 years old.

 

Born in Suffern, NY on November 5, 1968, he was the son of Carol (nee Walsh) and the late Richard L. Stevens, Sr. The family lived in Pearl River, NY until the early 1980s when they moved to Warwick. Rich was a graduate of Warwick Valley High School.

 

A family statement reads: “In addition to being a wonderful, loving son, brother and uncle, Rich was an avid drummer with a beautiful singing voice. He loved his nieces and nephews and he loved the Lord.”

 

Rich is survived by his mother, Carol of Warwick; sisters: Kimberly Miller of Warwick, Christine Costello of Kent Island, MD, and Colleen Lukach-Calamis of Unionville; half-brothers: Roy Stevens, Scott Stevens and Craig Stevens; half-sister Cheryl Stevens; maternal grandmother Carrie Walsh of Warwick; nieces and nephews: Ashley, Justin, and Taylor Miller, Amber, and Toni Costello, Sean, and Sarah Lukach. He was predeceased by his father Richard, sister Carol, and his longtime companion Regina Flanagan.

 

The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 with a funeral service at 10:00 am. on Thursday at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Interment will follow the service in Warwick Cemetery.
