Dean Frank Mastrantoni

11/14/2021

Dean Frank Mastrantoni of Goshen, NY passed away on November 14, 2021 after a seven-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was 53 years old.

Born on January 3, 1968 in Jamaica Queens, he was the son of Antonia (nee Crescenzi) and the late Armando Mastrantoni.

Dean was a gifted Musician, Writer, and Artist.  After graduating from CW Post University, Dean pursued his passion in music and was involved in many Long Island based Bands, most notable the Hatracks and the band Stretch Armstrong which were at the forefront of the 1990’s Long Island Music scene.  Determined to push the boundaries, he formed another band called Bell, Book and Candle which reached Europe in 1996 on the compilation album Goth Box, that debuted his song Below.

After the birth of his child Alex, he started writing screenplays and short films and then eventually journeyed to Hollywood.

Dean continued his passion until his sickness kept him home which inspired him to paint and draw scenes of his music, horror culture and vivid landscapes.

Dean is survived by his mother, Antonia, daughter Alex DesJardin of Sherman, CT; brother Thomas Mastrantoni of Warwick; nieces and nephew: Gabriella, Daniella and Massimo; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father and sister-in-law Gina.
