William Swearer

9/15/2018

William Stuart Swearer of Warwick, NY passed away on September 15, 2018 at his home, with his loving wife by his side.  He was 69 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 24, 1949, to parents John G. Swearer Sr. and Ethel R. Donnelly, Bill was an aviation enthusiast who achieved his private pilot's license while still a teen working with the local Civil Air Patrol. Drafted into the U.S. Air Force after earning his Bachelor’s degree at Temple University, he reached the rank of Captain and served in Viet Nam. When the War ended, Bill flew reconnaissance missions as a flight commander. Honorably discharged from the military, he worked for the next thirty years in corporate aviation as both a Gulfstream and Challenger pilot for General Electric, as Chief Pilot for Warner-Lambert Pharmaceuticals, and lastly, as a Captain for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, when those two companies merged. Bill will be well remembered by those who knew him for his distinctly brilliant mind, his nimble wit, and his free-spirited, fun-loving nature.

Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Brink.

In lieu of flowers, a tax-deductible donation in Bill’s memory can be made to The Oasis Sanctuary, P.O. Box 2166, Scottsdale, AZ 85252.

Cremation was private.
