Ivy Meyer of Warwick, NY passed away on March 27, 2018, at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 86 years old.

She was born September 20, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, to parents Thomas and Nell (Koby) Welnick.

Ivy was married to the late Herman Meyer with whom she was a partner in the family business, Garden State Professional Pigeon Removers.

Ivy was a member of the New Milford United Methodist Church and the New Milford Historical Society for many years. She was also an avid antique collector and gardener.

A family statement reads, “Ivy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, mentor and friend to her four sons and her grandchildren.”

She is survived by her four sons, Tom Petersen and wife Stacey of Howell, NJ, Scott Petersen and wife Cathy of Warwick, NY, John Meyer and his wife Mariaanna of Goshen, NY, Herm Meyer of Nyack, NY; and many beloved grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, William, and Jerry.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY 10990. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Ivy to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
