Tonie Antonia Murphy of Warwick, NY passed away on June 1, 2018 at St. Anthony Hospital.She was 73 years old.

 

Born in Astoria Queens on May 9, 1945, she was the daughter of Frank Tenreiro and Henrietta Garcia.

 

Tonie served as a clerk of the court in East Hampton, NY. When she came to the area, she served on the Orange County Board of Elections and then worked as the assistant to County Executive Joseph Rampe. She later became Commissioner of Jurors. Tonie also served as Vice-Chairman of the Republican Committee for over 30 years. 

 

She worked as a realtor for Raynor Country and was a longtime member of the “lotto players group” with her co-workers there.

 

To Tonie, family always came first. She always enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their families, but her grandsons were her world.

 

Tonie is survived by her daughters Lisa Miller of Montgomery, NY and Tara LeDuc and husband Paul of Warwick; six grandchildren: Adam and David Smith, Jacob and Joshua Miller and Kyle and Andrew LeDuc; a brother Frank Tenreiro and wife Maryanne of South Hampton, NY; two nephews and two great-nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her husband Kevin M. Murphy, daughter Dawn Murphy Smith and a sister Maria McGrath.

 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3 from 3-6:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. A funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, June 4 at 10:00 with interment following in Orange County Veterans’ Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Tonie’s memory to Muscular Dystrophy Cure Duchenne, 1400 Quail St. Suite 110, Newport Beach, CA 92660.

My sincerest condolences to all of Tonie’s family. A big hug to you Tara and Lisa! Mom is finally at peace. You both did an amazing job loving her and caring for her. She loved you both and her grandsons sooooo much! That was something that remained constant even as she grew sicker. I pray that God fills you with His peace and comforts you all as you mourn her loss. Rest In Peace Tonie ❤️❤️❤️❤️
