Scott Laurence Listwon

7/3/2017

Our universe was knocked off its axis when our son and brother, Scott Laurence Listwon, 37 years young, passed away unexpectedly on July 3, 2017.

My dear son Scott, Scotty or even “Hollywood” as some of his friends and his artwork knew him, lived his life on his own terms from very early on. Scott loved to live life, experiencing it as he chose, when he chose and in just the way he desired it to be. Scott did not conform to social “norms”, he was a free-spirit who lived in the present, experiencing each moment and rocked it to his own beat. He was enormously talented, an artistic dreamer who would bring thoughts and ideas to beautiful reality with a few strokes of pen, pencil, chalk or paint, his art work is breathtaking, his quick doodles so on point to what was going on in that moment are amazing…

Scott had that rare unforgettable charismatic “thing” that some people have, he had it... He had a larger than life personality, his infectious laugh and that smile, his boundless grin forced you to smile back no matter what. He would slap your back or hug you at a moment’s notice just because and he kept every friend he ever made oh so easily, always touching base after long stretches of time as if he saw you just yesterday...

There isn’t a person that ever met Scott that wasn’t affected by him or will forget his support and true friendship.  He could enter a room and it would brighten by his smile, his attitude, or just his presence and he truly left everyone that met him so glad he touched their lives and theirs his…

Scott lived the life he always wanted and everyone that he touched will miss the way he made the world spin just a bit faster and shine just a bit brighter...

Scott is survived by his parents, Nancy Heitman of Warwick, Richard Listwon of Staten Island, his brother and sister, Christopher Listwon of Warwick, Shea Listwon of New Orleans, as well as numerous and dearly loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as an entire world of near and dear friends…

Calling hours will be on Saturday, July 15, 2017,  from 11am to 2pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY.  A Remembrance repast beginning at 3pm will be at the home of Nancy Heitman, 24 Galloway Road, Warwick, NY 10990.

Memorial contributions can be made to Warwick Valley Humane Society, PO Box 61, Warwick, NY 10990.

I'm still having a hard time processing the news. Guess we will have to collaborate on the book at a much later date. You were an inspiration my friend and I will never forget you. Love you always. Fly high!
