Ludmila Zajac

Ludmila Zajac, of Warwick (formerly of Brooklyn and Slovakia), passed away on May 17, 2017 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 93 years old.

Born on September 25, 1923 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ludmila (Racik) Kubenik.

She was married to the late Henry Zajac (1994).

A homemaker, Ludmila loved to cook, bake and garden. She also loved to take care of her children and took part in raising her grandchildren and enjoyed the company of her great-grandchildren. She was deeply devoted to her faith and was a member of St. Stephen Church, Warwick.

She is survived by her son, Lubomir Zajac and his wife Eva; her daughter, Bozena Kovac and her husband Paul of Warwick; son-in-law, Jan Pavlik; her seven grandchildren: Monika Zajac, Peter Zajac, Paul Zajac, Beata Skvorecz, Susie Kovac, Stephanie Pavlik, and Kateri Pavlik; three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Brian and Olivia Skvorecz; brother, Henry Kubenik; and sister, Maria Gabor.

She was predeceased by a daughter Daniela Zajac-Pavlik, a grandson Jan Pavlik, a brother Michael Kubenik, a sister Bozena Gazo, and a brother John Kubenik.

The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at St. Anthony Community Hospital for the care provided to Ludmila.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 20^th, from 2:00-5:00 pm and Sunday, May 21^st, from 2:00-5:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday, May 22nd at St. Stephen RC Church, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be sent to St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, NY 10990.
