Candida Rosa Torres

Candida Rosa “Nana” Torres, of Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 22, 2016 at Valley View Care Center, Goshen.  She was 98 years old. 

Born on June 14, 1918 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Francisco N. and Cruz Cancel Bobe.

She was married to the late Angel S. Torres.

A homemaker, Candida was a member of St. Stephen RC Church in Warwick 

A family statement reads:  “Nana left this world to begin her next journey;  she lives on in our many family traditions, but most of all in our hearts.” 

She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Doran of Warwick;  three grandchildren:  Michael Doran and his wife Lynn of Pine Island, Arlene Hansen of Amity, and Robert Doran and his husband Bob  of  Owosso, MI;  six great-grandchildren:  Kaare, Emilie, Olivia, Mollie, Michael and Ava.  She was predeceased by her eight siblings.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Valley View for the excellent care Candida received while she was there.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 26th at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, NY followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry, 135 Forester Ave., Warwick, NY 10990.
