Sandra Lee Hinckley

10/29/2016

Sandra Lee Hinckley, of Warwick, passed away on October 29, 2016 at Westchester Medical Center.

The daughter of Leon and Marie (Wheeler) Hinckley, she was born on April 12, 1948 and raised in Rutland, VT where she completed her schooling.

Upon moving to the state of Florida, she continued her education at Florida State in Tampa.  She worked for Tom Jennings CPA firm, then for Robert H. Hart & Sons as a Comptroller.  Relocating to New York State, she spent the next few years at Yegidis, Goldstein firm in Middletown.  She then worked with Goldstein Lieberman in Mahwah, NJ as a CPA for the next 20 years.  Her skill and knowledge in that field are renowned,

Among her survivors are two sisters:  Karen Carrera (husband Herb) of Shrewsbury, VT and Susan Seagraves (husband John) of the state of Washington.  She also leaves nephews:  Jeff Carrara (wife Karen) and his children Joey and Meagan of Vermont, and Jamie Carrara (wife Catherine) and newest member of the family, great-niece Kayla Carrara; and nephews Shaun Seagraves and Brian Seagraves.

In addition to her Vermont family, she also became part of Sara Addison’s family.  Aunt Sandi leaves to cherish her memory:  Rebecca Taylor (husband Gregg); grandchildren, Erin & Emma Taylor, Michael Chambers, Jr. (wife Gina), grandson Mikey Patrick Chambers (fiancé Ashley Watson).  She cherished them all.

Sandi’s life focused on three areas.  She excelled at her job and earned the respect she received.  Secondly, her family caused her great pride and held a special place in her life.  Her influence was strongly felt.  Thirdly, her devotion to her faith and her church were remarkable.  She served however she could, sharing her experiences and ideas in almost all offices and committees through the years.  She was a great friend and faithful servant.

Interment took place in Vermont.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at 12:00 noon at New Milford/Edenville UMC, followed by a gathering and sharing of Sandi’s life.

Memorials in Sandi’s name may be made to New Milford/Edenville UMC Building Fund, PO Box 137, New Milford, NY  10959.
