Patricia M. Driscoll

6/23/2016

Patricia M. Driscoll, 91, of Island Pond, Vermont, formerly of Warwick, New York, died on June 23, 2016 at her home in Island Pond, Vermont.

She was born October 7, 1924, in the Bronx, New York, a daughter of Edmund C. Farrell and Mae (Brodbeck) Farrell.

She graduated from Cathedral High School in New York, NY in 1941 and was a veteran of World War II, having been honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1946.

In 1948, she married John T. Driscoll and built a life full of many cherished memories and interesting stories, first as a homemaker, raising eight children, and later taking on jobs in the community with the Warwick Valley School District and the Sears & Roebuck store.   She also enjoyed traveling with John, after his retirement, and visiting with their children and grandchildren in various states.  Through the years, she was the constant glue holding the family together as we watched their love affair evolve during their 62 years of marriage, until her husband John’s death in 2010.

Patricia also donated her time and energy to numerous organizations in the Warwick community.  She was a member of the American Legion Post #214; an active member of St. Stephens Catholic Church as a member of the choir, a member of the Sodality, and a member and past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Ann chapter.

She also enjoyed many friendships in the Warwick community and formed a special bond with a group of women affectionately known as “the poker ladies”.  This group of women always made the effort to keep in touch with Patricia through phone calls and cards after she moved away from the Warwick area to Vermont, which meant so much to her.

She is survived by her children: Thomas Driscoll and his wife, Stephanie, of Cherry Valley, New York; Walter Driscoll and his wife, Marcia, of Island Pond, Vermont; Kathleen Garulli and her husband, Mike, of Goshen, New York; Brian Driscoll and his wife, Jeanette, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Daniel Driscoll and Donna Egan, both of Shohola, Pennsylvania; Terence Driscoll of Island Pond, Vermont; and John Driscoll Jr and his wife, Liz, of Denver, Colorado; by 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and by three sisters, Jean Millar, Ann Bergen and Carol White.  She was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Hand, and a brother, John Farrell.

A memorial funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at St. Stephens RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, New York, followed by internment in St. Stephens Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory may be made to St Stephens RC Church in Warwick, New York.
