Raymond Slattery

Raymond Slattery, a longtime resident of Warwick, NY, passed away on April 24, 2016.  He was 69 years old.

Born on March 4, 1947 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (O’Hanlon) Slattery.

He was married to Rita (Wells) Slattery.

Raymond served with the US Navy Submarine Corp as a Quarter Master stationed in New London, Ct on the USS Entemedor during from January 1965 to April 1968.  He was a Master Electrician, working for himself for many years, and more recently working for his son at Skyward Electric in Warwick. 

He is survived by his wife, Rita of Warwick; his children:  Shawn, Sharleen, Steven and his wife Kate and Scott Slattery of Warwick; three grandchildren:  Jeffrey, Samuel and Caleb Corcoran; and a sister, Kathrine Curry.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 29th, from 5-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue.  Cremation will be private.

Sorry to have read of Ray's passing. I remember him as my neighbor in Dumont, New Jersey when he came home from the Navy. He was a friendly person. I recall him helping me and my dad with car repairs. Shortly after my move to Warwick I was informed that Ray had also moved to Warwick years earlier. Always meant to touch base with him. I will always remember his smile and hello neighbor.

My greatest sympathy for a true gentleman and loved one. I will always remember the good times, laughter and wisdom he shared with the world and thankfully me. Yes, a wonderful history, legacy he leaves and my sincerest condolences. He was and DOES mean so much to me. He and I shared great moments. God Bless. We shall all meet in the end.
