John R. Lenihan "Jack"

John  R. Lenihan "Jack", a resident of West Milford, NJ and formerly of Warwick, NY, passed away on February 1, 2016 at Joe Raso Hospice in New City, NY.  He was 74 years old. 

Born on November 14, 1941 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late John R. and Helen (Zuckerman) Lenihan.

He was married for 51 years to Faith (Beattie) Lenihan.

Jack was formerly a Teacher at Clark Junior High School in the South Bronx, NY for many years, and then was a Guidance Counselor with the Monroe-Woodbury school system.  He served with the volunteer ambulance in Dingmans Ferry, PA and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Dingmans Ferry, PA.  A former parishioner of St. Stephens Church in Warwick, he was currently a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace, West Milford. 

He is survived by his wife, Faith;    his children:  John Lenihan and his wife Gwynneth of Montgomery, NY, James Lenihan and his wife Kathy of Congers, NY, and Kerry Harrison and her husband Chris of Montgomery, NY; seven grandchildren:  Andrew, Meaghan, Patrick,  & Kiera Lenihan, Anthony & Michael Cally, and Sean Lenihan.  He is also survived by a brother, Richard Lenihan and his wife Arlene of Roselle, NJ; also survived by many nieces and nephews.    He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Derella and a brother, Hugh Lenihan.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 4th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday at St. Stephen Church, 75 Sanfordville Rd, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
